The core services of Fairseas are focused on bulk and breakbulk seafreight chartering and brokering activities, Fairseas seeks to provide value by providing cargo interests with efficient and cost effective sea transport and intermodal solutions along the African seaboard and to the Indian Ocean rim countries including the Indian Ocean Island areas.  

Time and voyage chartered vessels are operated on a trip and period basis in the small project through to handy size tonnage range, providing regular sailings for domestic and regional cargoes on the South, West, East African and Namibian coasts and to international destinations in the Persian Gulf and Indian sub- continent.

Commodities presently handled in bulk and breakbulk form and which Fairseas has extensive experience in include bagged foodstuffs and cement, bulk coal, grains and minerals, as well as general containerised consignments and project cargoes.  Fairseas moves approximately 250 000 freight tonnes of seafreight cargo per annum intra- Africa on behalf of established clients with main ports of shipment being Durban, Cape Town, Maputo and Mombasa.

Fairseas is able to offer clients seafreight solutions ranging from simple space and slot bookings through to voyage and time charter parties and provide full post fixture and voyage management services

Where appropriate, landside logistics, barging and lightering are dovetailed with seafreight solutions, making for a seamless through service for our clients from contracted point of despatch to delivery. Our extensive experience operating in developing Africa makes providing solutions in challenging locations our speciality.

Brokering

 In order to complement the chartering activities conducted and to ensure the widest possible selection of freight opportunities are available to clients Fairseas are active in vessel and cargo brokering and have developed a communication network of shipowners, managers, and other charterers,brokers and agents around the world so that the most timeous and cost effective solution can be quickly identified.

At any one time Fairseas has cargoes to place into the market and in turn Fairseas has developed relations with vessel owners looking to optimise vessel utilisation along the African seaboard and we are a first choice supplier with numerous worldwide shipowners who are looking to procure cargoes in our geographical areas of speciality.

Freight Management

Fairseas specializes in freight management and logistics and providing consultancy services to cargo interests and parties invested in shipping activities.

Cargo logistics

Fairseas is able to handle any road/rail /sea/air consignments, both import and export and provide a seamless overall service to & from Free on Board/Free Out to point of origin, be it local or over border cargo. Where necessary warehousing, transport ,handling and tallying is arranged and managed on behalf of clients.

Destinations that Fairseas has experience is consigning cargo to vary from Djibouti in North East Africa all the way around to Dakar in West Africa and we are able to provide an extensive advice service to clients unfamiliar to the intricacies of shipping into and ex developing areas of Africa .

Agency

Fairseas is a regular caller at Mocambican ports for chartered cargoes and operates closely in conjunction with and provides joint management services to a Mocambican based sister company, Mozport Lda ( www.mozport.com)  in respect to in house and third party vessel calls at the three main Mocambican seaports of Maputo, Beira and Nacala.
